Jessie is a Boston-based dramaturg specializing in new play development. She is Co-Founder and Literary Director of Fresh Ink Theatre, a development and producing company dedicated exclusively to new work by local writers, and Dramaturgy Associate at Company One, an organization that uses theatre as a medium for social change. She also freelances with writers around town.
She studied her craft at Emerson College, where she earned a BA in Theatre Studies with a concentration in Dramaturgy and Directing, and minors in Playwriting and Gender Studies. While at Emerson, she won the 2010 KCACTF/LMDA National Dramaturgy Award for her work on Michael Hollinger’s Incorruptible, and an EVVY Award for Outstanding Production for her play Julie.
Jessie has worked at The Playwright’s Center as a Core Apprentice Dramaturg, The Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center as a Literary Fellow, and Denver Center Theatre Company as a Literary Management intern. She is also a proud member of the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of America, where she serves as the Northeast regional VP.
Outside of the theatre, Jessie enjoys taking road trips, crafting, and trying out new recipes. She is an avid concert-goer and movie-watcher, and frequently pines for her lovely home state of Colorado.
